So in todays tips, I’m talking about substituting certain ingredients to make whatever dish you’re making a healthier option.
Substitute coconut oil and olive oil for vegetable/corn oils etc. The processed oils, hydrogenated, corn or oleic etc, have been heated and had extra chemicals added which makes them fairly harmful. Use them to cook with and in dressings etc.
Get rid of the wheat flour and replace it with almond flour or coconut flour. Whether it’s full blown celiac disease, gluten intolerance or whatever a lot of people have a negative reaction to wheat. Removing grain based foods like bread and pasta can help improve your gut health and lose weight.
Dairy is a grey area and one of the ways to know if you’ve got a dairy issue is to eliminate it for a few weeks, then add it back to your diet and see how your body reacts. If it reacts badly, then use coconut or almond milk. Soy, oat and rice milk seem to have some of the same issues as grains so avoid them.
