Every morning I’ve had some sort of egg scramble. So I don’t have to eat eggs every morning I’m going to start making enough for lunch and supper that I can have some leftovers for breakfast and lunch. Yesterday for lunch I grilled some burgers for lunch (side note, for me I love to grill so shoveling from the back door to the grill is as important as shoveling the driveway!) I had them with some salsa, I liked the ground beef flavor with the salsa it was really tasty! For dinner Kate made an awesome taco salad, with ground beef, a home made taco seasoning, broccoli, carrots, lettuce and some other veggies that I’m forgetting and we had it with salsa.
The on Wednesday I had some ham and mashed turnip for lunch. I didn’t really add anything to the turnip and found it has a pretty bitter after taste, does anyone have a recipe for mashed turnip they’d like to share?
One area of fitness that I know is hard for everyone myself included is getting enough sleep. Do everything you can to get a full eight hours. This isn’t always possible and is far easier said than done. But if there is a way you can do it then by all means start disciplining yourself into it! There are numerous studies that talk about the amount of sleep a person gets in relation to their health and well being, ability to function etc. One part associated with sleep, also something that will help the quality of sleep, is how dark is the room? It’s been reported that even the smallest amount of light has a negative effect on your quality of sleep, so cover your alarms, make sure the windows don’t let the street light in, make sure the light that indicates your cell phone is charging is face down etc.
Here are some links to sleep and health:
See you in the gym!
