Why kettlebells? They way they rest on the arm during lifting looks potentially painful and seems to put additional stress on the wrist.
Thanks for asking...Why Kettlebells? First, properly used, kettelebell training is extremely effective at developing incredible levels of fitness. Also as a fitness tool and for most exercises, the kettlebells shape provides a unique way to keep the kettlebell's weight over the user's center of mass, which is harder with a dumbell or barbell, which is usually held in front of the users center of mass. Another benefit to the shape of the kettlebell is that because the center of mass of the kettlebell isn't centered on the handle it requires the user to engage more muscles to stabilize the weight, which makes the exercise more functional.
Regarding the potential pain from resting on the arm and stress on the wrist, it can be painful and stressful if it is held wrong, when held correctly the wrist remains very neutral. Depending on how long the set the user is performing, the weight on the forearm can get uncomfortable. I usually use wristbands if I'm doing a long set of a particular exercise, or like in the video I've got long sleeves on which helps alleviate discomfort. Also the longer someone uses a kettlebell the more 'normal' it is to feel the weight resting on the forearm.
I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any more questions.
